The Reverend Dr. Norris E. Jackson, Jr. has been serving in the Ministry for nearly 20 years and brings over 15 years of pastoral and administrative experience to St. Paul, Glencoe, IL. Pastor Norris was appointed to serve as pastor of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church on October 3, 2010.
He is the third child of four children born to Norris, Sr., (deceased) and Ruby Jackson. He was born on May 1 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On June 2, 1984, he united in Holy Matrimony to Lady Tanja at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Chicago, IL. They have four children : two sons (Norris lll {E.J.} and Quinten) and two daughters (Nichelle and Melva).
Pastor Norris completed his Doctoral Degree work in, Parish Revitalization, graduating on May 4, 2009, from McCormick Theological Seminary where he received his Master's of Divinity Degree. He also holds an Honorary Doctoral Degree from, Midwest Bible School, in Biblical Studies, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Chicago State University.
Prior to his assignment to the pastorate of St. Paul, Pastor Norris served as the pastor of Mayo A.M.E. Church Matteson, IL. and Celia Gregg Memorial A.M.E. Church in Calumet City, IL. Before relocating to Calumet City, Celia Gregg was located at 5848 So. Emerald in the Englewood community of Chicago, IL. The Lord blessed Pastor Norris' ministry as God led them into purchasing a beautiful edifice located at 520 E. Sibley Blvd. in Calumet City. This building contained stain glass windows, a pipe organ, an Educational Building and a parsonage valued at 2.0 million dollars.
During his service, Pastor Norris established Angel Care CDC a Community Development Corporation), where they developed After School tutoring program, a Summer Tutorial Educational Program (S.T.E.P.), a food pantry, a Nursing home ministry and led a stop the violence community campaign.
