A African ~ The word African means that the church was organized by people of African descent and heritage. It does not mean that the church was founded in Africa, or that it was for persons of African descent only. M Methodist ~ The church's roots are of the family of Methodist churches; Methodist members who left the church to be free to worship as they pleased. Retaining the Methodist doctrine, we have a Methodist worship service. Methodism provides an orderly system of rules and regulations and places emphasis on a plain and simple gospel. E Episcopal ~ Episcopal refers to the form of government under which the church operates. The chief executive and administrative officers of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination are the Bishops of the church who preside over districts made up of many local chuches. Who We Are WE ARE a family in Christ. Thus, our every effort, our every ministry is purposed toward honoring God. We pray for the Holy Spirit to strengthen the bonds of fellowship by bringing us into a right relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, that we may bring others to know and seek Him for themselves. |
